Little Dragons Take on the Challenge

More than 40 Little Dragons came together at Australian Martial Arts Academy Marrickville on Saturday 19 September for an exciting afternoon of martial arts challenges, confidence-building and family fun.

The Little Dragons Tournament gave our youngest martial artists, aged 3–5, the chance to put their skills to the test. They took part in the Sumo Challenge, Flying Side Kick Challenge and Belt Behind the Back game.

There was plenty of excitement throughout the afternoon. The children showed their balance, coordination, movement and focus. They also encouraged their friends and gave every challenge their very best.

Putting Their Skills to the Test

The tournament gave our Little Dragons the chance to experience a martial arts event in a fun and supportive environment.

Each challenge encouraged the children to use different skills. They had to move quickly, stay focused and give each activity their best effort.

Most importantly, the event was about building confidence. It gave the children a chance to challenge themselves while enjoying the experience with their friends.

Senior Instructor Miss Sarah was there to support the young participants. Her daughter Harper also took part in the tournament.

“It was a wonderful event and such a great opportunity for our Little Dragons to come together, have fun and put their skills to the test. It was fantastic to see them encouraging each other, trying their best and enjoying the experience with their friends and families.”

Celebrating Our Little Dragons

Following the challenges, the children gathered for a presentation celebrating their efforts and participation.

It was fantastic to see them receive recognition for getting involved and trying their best. They also showed the positive attitude that is such an important part of their martial arts journey.

The presentation was a great way to celebrate everyone’s achievements. Every child should be proud of the effort they put in throughout the afternoon.

Families Come Together

With beautiful sunshine providing the perfect backdrop, the afternoon continued after the presentation.

Families gathered on the lawns opposite Australian Martial Arts Academy Marrickville. Parents and children relaxed, caught up with other families and enjoyed some time together.

The event was a wonderful reflection of the Australian Martial Arts Academy community. It brought students and families together while giving our youngest martial artists a chance to learn, grow and have fun.

A huge congratulations to all of our Little Dragons who took part in the tournament. We loved seeing everyone have a go, encourage their friends and show off the skills they have developed through their martial arts training.

Well done, Little Dragons — you should all be very proud!

Colour Belt Promotions Celebrate Student Progress

The September AMA colour belt promotions brought together hundreds of students across Australian Martial Arts Academy (AMA) locations in Sydney. Students demonstrated their skills, dedication and progress as they took the next step in their martial arts journey.

Across the September grading cycle, 493 AMA students achieved promotions, including 397 Taekwondo colour belt students.

Celebrating Hard Work and Dedication

From Marrickville and Sydenham to Auburn, Concord and Sylvania, students stepped onto the mat ready to demonstrate what they had learned.

Each grading was an opportunity to showcase improved techniques, confidence and discipline. It also highlighted the commitment students have shown throughout their training.

Grandmaster Ridvan Highlights the Importance of Respect

Grandmaster Ridvan was delighted to see students progressing across the academy. He also reinforced an important message about respecting parents and family.

“It was great to see the progress of our students across all the locations. One of the messages I really wanted to reinforce was the importance of respect for our parents. Martial arts is about much more than learning techniques. It is about developing discipline, respect and strong values that students can carry with them every day.”

-Grandmaster Ridvan Manav

At AMA, martial arts training goes beyond physical skills. Students also learn valuable life lessons, including perseverance, self-confidence and respect for others.

Congratulations to All Our Students!

Congratulations to everyone who achieved their next belt during the September AMA colour belt promotions!

We also thank our dedicated instructors and supportive families for helping students reach these important milestones.

Well done to everyone on their achievements. We look forward to seeing your continued progress!
